New Series of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Starting in February

I will be teaching another round of MBSR starting late February. Anyone in the greater Nelson region is welcome to join! With your doctor’s referral, the course for the fee is covered under the provincial Medical Services Plan. Contact RISE BC Wellness for info!

Do you have chronic pain, fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, autoimmune disease, or insomnia?

Are you interested in learning meditation and improving you health through mindfulness?

MBSR is an 8-week program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and taught locally by Dr. Devon Christie at RISE BC Wellness in Nelson, BC. MBSR teaches participants’ how to better cope with stress and challenging emotions, and in turn, create the internal conditions for healing, happiness, and peace.

Cost: Course fee is covered under healthcare with physician referral. Upon registering, participants pay $40 for administration and materials and a $50 attendance deposite. Limited to 12 participants.

What is asked of participants?

We ask that participants have a willingness to learn how to meditate, and capacity to attend eight, 2.5-hour group sessions over the course of 10 weeks, as well as one 6-hour ‘All-Day’ retreat in Nelson. There will be guided home practice exercises to be completed daily for approximately 40 minutes each day.
